Description
A very famous folk song from Turkey which is more than a hundred years old.
A woman and a man walk to Üsküdar, a district in the Asian part of Istanbul, while it starts raining. The young man is a scribe and he is so nice-looking in his white shirt and with his sleepy eyes!
"He belongs to me and I belong to him" (Kâtib benim, ben kâtibin), "why are you looking at us?", says the woman and offers him a candy while they are on their way.
The song forms part of my music programme "Ich bin ein Migrant"/ I am a migrant first shown in Gallus Theater, Frankfurt am Main on 1 April 2017.
