Rare audience recording of Tang Dynasty, China's first heavy metal band, from a 1999 concert in Tianjin, following the release of their second album, Epic. Founding member Kaiser Kuo is on lead guitar, having returned to the band in late 1996.

The Epic era is one of the most overlooked periods in the band's history; they were recovering from the devastating loss of bassist Zhang Ju and the departure of celebrated guitarist Liu Yijun. During this time, they split with their label, and began to reinvent themselves as one of the finest bands of the Chinese underground.

Despite the band touring heavily from 1997 through 1999, very little documentation of this crucial era exists online. Much of the material off the second album has remained unplayed since Kuo's departure in May 1999. As far as I know, this is the ONLY live recording of these songs - however shoddy the quality - to exist.

Additionally, this recording includes:
-The ONLY full known live recording of "不要逃避", one of the band's first-ever songs that Kaiser wrote.
-The ONLY known live recording of "国际歌" in the album key.
