Dear Friends,

Please note: I've decided to delete my first upload of this song which took place on Saturday, 6 May 2017. I wish to implement some minor but nonetheless significant corrective measures to deliver greater quality. So here is the new upload. Please embrace, enjoy and cherish. I thank everyone dearly.

I have been wanting to tackle this indelible Mandarin Chinese classic (first released back in 2005) for the last several years. Somehow, I never got around to it. I had always wanted to render its overall meaning and essence crystal-clear for all to grasp. What could be more universal and timeless than the quest and yearning for one's "eternal other-half", "eternal-companion","eternal twin-flame" or true "eternal soul-mate"? I suppose this is the simple, but universally compelling, all-clear and all-powerful essence of the song. Please note how I have acknowledged and payed homage to both heterosexual and homosexual love on this video clip. All have existed since time immemorial. All are natural variables of nature. Gay, straight and lesbian love between CONSENTING ADULTS must be EQUALLY honoured and celebrated.

As far as I know, there has been three versions of this song: the very first original one was the theme song of the 2005 Jackie Chan movie named The Myth. This theme song was entitled "Wujin De Ai, 無盡的愛: Endless Love", a duet performed in both Mandarin and Korean by Jackie Chan and Kim Hee-sun. An alternative version for the movie, entitled "Meili De Shenhua, 美麗的神話: A Beautiful Myth" was performed in Mandarin by Sun Nan and Han Hong in 2005. The third version became the ending-theme song of the 2010 mainland China television series of the same title. This version was performed in Mandarin by Hu Ge and Bai Bing. All three versions had their own lyrics.

I particularly love the 孫楠 Sun Nan & 韓紅 Han Hong version with its distinctive, haunting and soul-enveloping lyrics, not to mention their virtuoso vocals. It is this version that I have so lovingly and conscientiously translated into English. I am hoping that it will accomplish the purpose of clarity, communication, understanding and appreciation. Yes, it again took much out of me to complete this translation project. I persevered. Here it is for your perusal and enjoyment.
