Richard Hayman started out as a studio arranger for MGM in the 1940's, working on films like Meet me in St. Louis and Crazy Girls. After releasing several successful LPs for Mercury (including the hit singles Ruby and Night Train), he went on to be he principal arranger for the Boston Pops for four decades. Still practicing his magic today, Richard Hayman is the Principal Pops Conductor for the Grand Rapids, Michigan Symphony.
Voodoo, released by Mercury Records in 1959, takes the listener on a sonic excursion from West Africa all the way to Haiti. Spell binding rhythms, exotic melodies, atmosphere thick as an island fog... it's all here! So rase yourself up a couple of cold Zombies and settle in for some hot beats.
