Description
On June 6, a new release from Flatcar Records took flight: Wings of Adelaine, the latest album from Danish-Canadian singer, songwriter, composer, producer—and all-around creative force—Abon, also known as Lauren Pedersen.
Featuring her ethereal vocals floating over a lush, cinematic bed of orchestral textures, Wings of Adelaine is a serene, 10-track tapestry that invites listeners to escape the chaos of everyday life and journey into dreamlike soundscapes.
Based in Edmonton, Abon is a multidisciplinary artist whose work draws from a deep well of experience and curiosity. She holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta, a BFA in Dance Performance from Ryerson University, and a Master’s in Music from Berklee College of Music. Her wide-ranging career includes recording vocals and keys with The Beach Boys and Kevin Hearn of Barenaked Ladies, and even collaborating with the SETI Institute to send music to the moon as part of the 2022 Peregrine Mission.
For Wings of Adelaine, Abon wrote and mixed the entire album herself, with production shared between her and producer Chris Graham.
