Following the success of his debut album Multidimensi, released in late February, independent Indonesian musician Adrian Setiawan (@adrianwst) is back with a brand-new single titled “Getting Older” — a vibrant Jazz Pop track infused with classic Ragtime energy, fresh, joyful, and full of life.

As his first release after the journey of Multidimensi, Getting Older marks a new creative chapter for Adrian. Written as a heartfelt reflection on the passage of time, the song transforms the birthday moment—usually seen as a cheerful celebration—into an opportunity for gratitude, self-evaluation, and renewed spirit for the future. Adrian originally composed this song in 2021 on his 24th birthday after receiving a guitar as a gift from his wife, Diona. Although previously unreleased, Getting Older has become a fan favorite during his live performances since 2022.

“Almost every birthday, I realize how beautiful life can be when we become someone who can love and be loved by the right people. As we grow older, thoughts come and go—how far we’ve come, who has crossed our path, and what dreams still lie ahead. This song was born out of those sentimental moments, but I wanted to wrap it in a cheerful tone—to lift spirits rather than weigh them down,” Adrian shares.

Getting Older was recorded at Studio Sepuluh and Kala Records, with production featuring drums by Mierfakh Averill and piano by Andreas Bonar Manurung. Adrian performed all other instruments himself, crafting a rich vintage sound with swing guitar, walking bass, and a hint of Ragtime groove that makes the track energetic and uplifting. It’s the perfect soundtrack for early mornings—or any time you feel like reconnecting with your younger self.

Released under the independent label Kala Records, this single further establishes Adrian Setiawan as one of Indonesia’s most promising young musicians—consistently exploring personal, heartfelt musical expression while maintaining a universal appeal.
