अवधूता, गगन घटा गहरानी रे ॥धृ॥
पच्छम दिसा से उलटी बादली, रुमझुम बरसे मेहा,
उठो ग्यानी खेत संभारो, बह निसरेगा पानी ॥१॥
निरत-सुरत के बेल बनावो, बीजा बोवो निज धानी,
दुबध्या डूब जमना नही पावे, बोवो नाम की धानी ॥२॥
चारों कोने चार रखवाले, चुग ना जावे मृग धानी,
काट्या खेत मींडा घर ल्यावे, जा की पूरन किसानी ॥३॥
पांच सखी मिल करे रसोई, जिहमें मुनी और ग्यानी,
कहे कबीर सुनो भाई साधो, बोवो नाम की धानी ॥४॥

Translation

Oh Unattached Being, sky is overcast and darkening
Dark clouds are looming over the sky

The cloudsare returning from the west,
The raindrops are falling down rhythmically
Wake up O enlightened, tend to your field,
Else, all water will drain away in vain.

Make creepers from seeing and listening (Within),
Another take: Use Nirata-Surata as your bullocks to plough the field
Sow the seed of the Self-Grain
Let not the weeds of doubt set in,
Sow the grain of Naam (Un-Struck Sound Within)

Four guards on each of the four corners,
Preventing the deer (Mind) from eating the grain
Take the harvested crop to the Master's house,
Surrendering the complete labor of the work

Together the five senses are cooking a conspiracy,
Even saints and knowledgeable ones are in the soup,
Listen Oh seeker says Kabir,
Sow the grain of Naam!
