In my guitar tutorials for “Birds and Ships” my string diagrams match the orientation of my guitar....the sixth string is on top and the first string is shown at the bottom. However, in standard tablature notation, the strings are shown in reverse order with the sixth string at the bottom. As a result, I created this video using standard tab notation in case you find that easier to follow. In addition, I include a complete play-through of the song from start to finish.


Tuning: This song is played in Open D tuning. That requires you to tune the first and sixth strings to D and the third string to F#.
