Canadian based band’s nicely constructed version of the traditional folk song.
It was first issued on a mono formatted 45 single in Australia (pictured) as the ‘flip side’ to the four member group’s phenomenally successful national #1 hit, ‘The Unicorn’*.
Australia release: Early 1968.
* Novelty track that achieved an extended pop chart run of 31 weeks and was the 5th biggest selling release of the year. It’s also one of a select number of overseas produced recordings to attain the #1 ranking in all Australian regional markets.
