Description
Kevin Bryan was a trumpet players trumpet player. The lead trumpeter in a big band is the most demanding position. It requires equal parts power, precision, and musicality. He had it all. In the hierarchy of lead trumpet players in New York City, Kevin was always a first call for recordings and live performances. His versatility was featured with artists like the Tito Puente Orchestra, Harry Connick's Big Band, The Mambo Legends Orchestra, Duke Ellington and Count Basie Big Bands, and our own Multiverse Big Band.
Kevin is featured on three of our Grammy nominated CDs. His sudden death in 2018 shocked and saddened not only us, but everyone in the music business. This beautiful bolero composed by one of our arrangers, Jeremy Fletcher, is based on the Japanese poetic form know as haiku. It pays homage to our fallen brother and is also dedicated to those who have recently passed due to the Covid-19 virus. It was completely videoed on smart phones.
