My dad and I had a chance to with Tony Kamel, the singer and guitar player in the Grammy-nominated, Texas-based bluegrass quartet Wood & Wire. The band recently released their second album, No Matter Where It Goes From Here, on August 28 on Blue Corn Music. And I think it’s really amazing. The playing on it is incredible. They’re so talented.

During this interview, we chatted about what it’s like to be nominated for one of the most amazing awards in music, the new album, and a couple of the songs on it, including one called “Pigs” that’s got a really awesome Pink Floyd vibe.

Of course we talk about Tony’s love of music, including his top 3 records, and what got him into playing guitar and singing in the first place. It was really amazing to hear how he got began at around my age. He also gave me a little advice about practicing and well, life in general.
