Louis Jordan had a massive influence on Chicago blues and Rock n Roll-- from Little Walter to Chuck Berry. He must have been as culturally ubiquitous as Hank Williams. Jordan's hit Caledonia or other great LJ songs made their way into the repetoires of just about James Cotton, Muddy Waters-- just about everybody. I played it night after night with the great Sam Lay. I was recently in Phenix City AL, the home of up-and-coming guitarist Skyler Sauflley and we got together to jam on this tune. Skyler's definitely a talent to watch! Then I break down the rhythm chords so you can play it with a propulsive groove. Have fun playing in this style!
