Akira Suzumura is a happy-go-lucky, womanizing, and always broke private detective. While pursuing a case, he is unexpectedly bathed in the Crystal Power developed by the Special Service Agency, S.A.I.D.O.C., and obtains the power to “shine” and become Changérion. S.A.I.D.O.C., in an attempt to stop the invasion of Dark Zide, evil creatures from a dark dimension, try to enlist Akira to their cause. But they are constantly sent running around in circles by Akira, since he does not want to be the “Hero of Justice.” Then the Black Knight Gowzer, also known as Shogo Kuroiwa, appears.
