The Spring Festival Overture was created by renowned composer Li Huanzhi in the 1950s, which adopts the melody and rhythm of "yangge" (a form of Chinese folk dance) in Northwest China's Shaanxi province, as well as elements from northern Shaanxi folk songs.

With the Spring Festival as its theme, the bright, beautiful melody and clear, passionate rhythm vividly depict the jubilation of the Spring Festival.

这首管弦乐曲由中国著名作曲家李焕之创作于1955-1956年。以陕北民间秧歌为素材，旋律明快优美，节奏鲜明热烈，生动地体现了春节里热闹欢腾的场面。
