Description
Waldir Azevedo was born in the Brazilian capital in 1923 and died in 1980. Composed more than 130+ songs for the cavaquinho (equivalent to the mandolin). He studied flute, mandolin, and cavaquinho, performing in major So. American venues, including television shows. He only learned to read and write music at the age of 44. His daughter died in an accident in 1964 which caused emotional trauma; then, he had a horrific accident where he nearly lost his 3rd finger and was in a dark recovery period where he stopped playing. This is my interpretation of this song, and no copyright infringement is intended. Bassoon reed (first section) and Master (refrain) on my dry-tuned Petosa. i would classify this tango as Forro-influenced dance rhythm in the Afro-Brazilian tradition.
