Note to viewers re: this and previous upload:
I had a request for an overhead keyboard recording with score of Debussy’s “Reverie” from a viewer who wanted to study the piece during her summer holidays. So, I recorded “Reverie” for her. I received several bogus copyright claims on this video and now it is blocked. So, I have not intentionally removed “Reverie” from YouTube, the video is just caught up in the copyright dispute process.
So, to try and help the viewer — or anyone else interested “Reverie” in an overhead keyboard view, I’ve made another recording of it with my ID wristband on the off-chance it might help in the event of disputing similar claims. (*This new video is currenly claimed by CD Baby and is also in the dispute process, but it is not currenltly blocked).
It occurred to me, in this new recording, to use a different public domain score from the previous upload i.e. the Albert Ernest Wier (1918) edition. This Weir score has several important differences in relation to tied notes to the Paris: E. Fromont (1905) edition featured in the previous upload, especially at the beginning in the left hand when the melody starts. The Weir score has pedal and fingering markings, (my own fingering in this video is different) and is conveniently compressed to 3 pages rather than 6, so easily fits on the music stand for practice without page turns. However, the Fromont score is much less cluttered for study purposes, being 6 pages.
To my viewer, I hope this new video will remain on YouTube longer than the previous upload and will help with your holiday piano practice.
