This a video for Eddie Palmieri y La Perfecta's
"Camagueyanos y Habaneros"
from the 1964 album "Mozambique".
I used the movie EARTHQUAKE 1974..who's plot consists
of various stories of various people as an earthquake of
un-imagineable magnitude hits Los Angeles.
Walter Matthau has a hilarious cameo in this film as a
drunk trying to drink at a bar ..all the while a biggest earthquake
L.A. has ever seen was occurring...so, i built the video around
him ...which gives the video a comic edge..i believe.

Mozambique is without question his best work. I was fortunate
enough to have seen Eddie perform many times in the mid to
late 60s in all of the NY venues such as The Village Gate, Manhattan
Center, Colgate Gardens, Huntspoint Palace (later to become The
Bronx Music Palace) along with some of the other Latin greats suce
as Tito Puente, Ray Barretto, Johnny Pacheco, Joe Cuba Ricardo Ray
and Mr. Boogaloo Blues himself, Johnny Colon...some of the best times
of my life!!!!
Mozambique equals La Salsa Bruta!...
