Description
The 17th Gyalwang Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje, tells TRT World's Sourav Roy that the killing of Rohingya Muslim refugees in Myanmar is most sad and unacceptable. The karmapa says that violence by Buddhist monks is against the principles and treachings of Buddha. Buddhist monks should be compassionate and peaceful not violent.
As for self-immolation in Tibet, the Karmapa says it is very sad that it has happened and he has appealed to Tibetans that they are a minority who should cherish their lives and live for the Tibetan cause. Self-immolation does not produce results at all.
