Today is a different kind of day for Fariba—a day when the silence and tranquility of the farm stand out more than ever. She begins the morning with the cool air and the scent of fresh soil. The sun slowly rises from behind the mountains, and wearing a simple dress with a scarf tied firmly, she steps into the fields. The birds, with their scattered songs, seem to be seeing her off as she begins her daily work. She spends most of her time alone on the farm. Sometimes, in silence, she gathers dry branches; other times, she quietly hums to herself. When she grows tired, she cooks herself a simple meal. Just as the sun is about to disappear behind the hills, the familiar sound of footsteps and laughter comes from afar. Ghodrat and Mahbubeh arrive with smiling faces to visit her. Moments later, the three of them sit tَogether, sipping tea and talking about life and old memories—a day that began in solitude ends with the warmth of friends’ presence.
