Description

Remaster notes: (Full lineage and set list below)
Video mastering/upscaling done by Christopher Hazard with help from Josh (GratefulDavis)
Video input: 480i
Remasterred Video ooutput: 1080p60 (1440x1080 @ 60 Frames Per Secoond)
Notes: There are some issues with this video. some chroma/luma shifting in the video feed, you will notice extra "contours" that kind of look like "ghosts" of the people in the picture, standing directly next to them. This is something baked into the original and it is fixable in the future but will take a lot of effort to correct. The workflow I used here does actually magnify the issue a bit.

I am not sure at what piont in the chain this shift happened, it may be a 2nd or 3rd gen tape... so a new transfer might be a better answer than doing it in software, which is very very tedious for shifts in chroma or luminosity.

Audio uploaded in native FLAC to youtube, youtube will downsample to OPUS.
Audio used is the SBD noted in track #1 on the video lineage.

Video: 480i source is de-interlaced using motion vectors to achieve a "perfect" 480p60fps (no frame blending, each frame becomes an "image" like true prrogessive video), each individual frame is exported to a lossless image file (average of 500,000 images per show) and edited individually for spatial/temporal noise, contrast, brightness, and then each frarme is ran through numerous neural networks which augment each image using large datasets to "fiill in miissing data" as needed while trying to not distort the original file. This is how we are able to increase a 480i file to 1080p or 4k using artificial intelligence. Thiis proicess takes up multiple terabytes per show in storage and requires a lot of heavy duty comoputational power.

Each sequence of images requires a "best guess" of which dataset will do the best augmention on each upscale pass, until the images are all at 1080p/4k. The ~500,000 images are then put into Vegas Pro and rendered filtered again (lightly) to filter out temporal noise/artifacts and flickeriing. Then the image sequence is rendered to H265 10-bit at constant quality factor "10"

With this video, I converted all DVD files to MKV and merged them to create one continuous show, mremuxed with ultramatrix FLAC24 track from Charlie Miller (all songs flatteneded out into one long track to sync with the video, also had to extract the flac from original file and convert to PCM in order to merge the MKV files, as MKV with FLAC does not merge properly)

The resulting video is "remuxed" with the original source audio and usually augmented further with multiple audio sources. I upload my "personal favorite source" in the youtube upload.

Unless the audio attached to the source video is already my semi-objectiive "best available recording, I patch the sound as well. I wiill usuallly use a SBD or "Ultramatrix" from charlie miller, though there are occasions I prefer a FOB or a normal matrix. (or a sbd mastered by someone else)
