Description
Track 6 from his eighth and final solo album “Southern Blood” released in 2017 copyright Rounder Records. It was recorded in March, 2016 at Fame Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama and released a few months after his death from liver cancer. The album consists of one original song and the rest are covers of songs that held deep meaning for him throughout his life. It received universal acclaim from critics, who called it exceptional and almost perfect. It’s an impressive farewell and shows that he was still at the top of his game despite his poor health, just like so many of the old bluesmen he admired and was inspired by in his early years. His cover of “Willin’” by Little Feat’s Lowell George, in particular, has an emotional impact on me. So here’s to the greatest white blues singer who ever lived and founding member of one of America’s greatest bands, that introduced the “Southern Rock” sound to a grateful world. Written by Lowell George and produced by Don Was. RIP Gregory Lenoir Allman. Featuring:
Gregg Allman – Lead vocals, guitars & Hammond B-3 organ
Scott Sharrard – Guitars

I've been warped by the rain, driven by the snow
I'm drunk and dirty and don't ya know
I'm willin', oh, I'm still willin'
Out on the road late at night, see my darlin' Alice in every headlight
Alice, Dallas Alice
And I been from Tucson to Tucumcari
Tehachapi and Tonapah
Driven every kind of rig that's ever been made
Driven the backroads so I wouldn't get weighed
And if you give me weed, whites, and wine
Show me a sign
I'll be willin' to be movin'
I've been kicked by the wind, robbed by the sleet
(Had my head stoved in) but I'm (still on my feet)
And I'm (still, still willin')
(I smuggled some smokes and folks from Mexico)
(Baked by the sun every time I go to Mexico)
(And I'm still willin')
(And I been from Tuscon to Tucumcari)
(Tehachapi and Tonapah)
(Driven every kind of rig that's ever been made)
(Driven the back roads so I wouldn't get weighed)
And if you'll give me (weed, whites and wine)
(Show me a sign)
(I'll be willin' to be movin')
(I'll be willin' to be movin')
