This remake of a Top 5 hit by Smokey Robinson in 1979 was performed by actress Gwyneth Paltrow with singer-songwriter and musician Huey Lewis in the 2000 film, "Duets" where they played a father and daughter team who join other people on the karaoke circuit. "Cruisin'" went to #1 on the Adult Contemporary chart in 2000, but failed to enter Billboard's Hot 100 chart, stalling at # 109. The single was a big hit in Australia and New Zealand, going to #1 in those two countries. I really liked this version because of its nice arrangements and harmonies, and it's another of those singles that I thought deserved to be a bigger hit.
