After the actual concert on January 14, Elvis and the band returned to the audience-abandoned hall, to record five additional tracks. These numbers were to be used in the US version of the special, which was timed to last 90 minutes.

The plan was to do photo montages with this footage of Elvis, along with Hawaiian landscape footage. That is why, for example, Elvis was filmed in the very bottom corner of the screen, so that it would fit into the later editing.

The entire session was recorded with 2 cameras, each with their own video recorder connected. With all the black screen it provides when Elvis is only in the corner, it is possible to view both camera shots at the same time.

RCA recorded the soundtrack, but their tapes rolled slightly longer than NBC's videotapes.
I have therefore made these new video clips, which contain the complete RCA audio recordings, and NBC's video footage appear when available.

So for the first time ever, we can enjoy the complete recordings found from this "recording session", with all the audio and video material available.

This does mean, however, that there is no picture at the start of the video clips, but in return we can hear the entire audio recorded, including talk between Marty Pasetta in the control room and Elvis on stage.
