"High mountains and flowing water" first came from Liezi Tang Wen. It is said that Bo Ya is good at drums and harps and Zhong Ziqi is good at listening. Bo Ya's Guqin aims at the high mountain. Zhong Ziqi said, "good, E Xi is like Mount Tai." Aiming at the flowing water, Zhong Ziqi said, "good, the ocean is like a river." What Boya reads, Zhong Ziqi will get it. When Ziqi died, Boya said that there was no bosom friend in the world, but he broke the piano and stopped playing drums all his life. Later, it was compared to a bosom friend or confidant with "high mountains and flowing water"[ 9]

"High mountains and flowing water" was originally a song. Since the Tang Dynasty, "high mountains" and "flowing water" have been divided into two independent piano songs. Among them, the song "running water" got more development in modern times. The music score first appeared in the magic secret score of the Ming Dynasty (written by Zhu Quancheng in 1425). "Running water" played by Mr. Guan Pinghu was recorded in the gold record of the American space probe "Voyager 1", and was launched into space on August 22, 1977 to find human "bosom friends" in the vast universe.
