Thursday's weather remained hot in Dalmatia, with daytime temperatures reaching 32 to 38 degrees Celsius.
Although the weather was sunny for most of the day, thick clouds were recorded in the afternoon, causing thunderstorms.
According to data from the Pljusak.com network, starting at 6:00 PM, heavy rain and thunderstorms, along with hail in places, occurred in the Mošor and Kamešnica regions.
The strongest storms affected the Sinj and Solin regions and the western part of Mošor.
In Podstrana, a lightning strike caused a fire in Perun, which was fortunately quickly extinguished thanks to rain. Wind gusts of up to 100 kilometers per hour were recorded in Žrnovnica, and broken tree branches fell on the roads.
The storm also caused a sudden drop in air temperature.
In Dubrava, the temperature dropped from 31 to 19 degrees Celsius, while in Cista Velika, it dropped by 15 degrees, from 32 to 17 degrees Celsius.
This is the second consecutive day of thunderstorms in the Sinj region.
About 40 millimeters of rain fell yesterday, while a total of 70 liters of rain per square meter has been recorded since the beginning of the month, significantly exceeding the August average.
