I just HAD to do the baby mama dance one last time before having these twin babies💃🤰🕺 Especially since they’ll be our last🥺
I had zero pain w my contractions🤯 I genuinely didn’t believe I was in labor. I wanted to go home😅 I just didn’t feel ready at all & it didn’t feel REAL either🤔
But the doc said she couldn’t let me go at 7-8 cm dilated. So I sat in the hospital thinking there’s no way I’ll continue to dilate w the “Braxton hicks” I was having.
Doc came back a few hours later & I was 8-9cm🤯
I know I have high pain tolerance but this was NUTS. I didn’t feel ANY pain. I was talking to Doug & my doula … and frantically prepping for babysitters for my older two.
I really wanted to have these twin babies with no pain meds like I did w Hendrix & Johnathan. The release of endorphins & oxytocin after I delivered w no meds was the most beautiful feeling of love & bonding between me and my baby🥰
BUT The doc really wanted me to get an epidural. baby B was breech & she had to reach in & grab his feet to pull him out.
If it didn’t work then I’d need an emergency c-section😬
If I didn’t have the epidural I’d have to have general anesthesia. Both of us agreed-no general anesthesia🙅♀️
It was so ODD sitting there curved over getting an epidural with ZERO pain at 9 cm. (I think I was 9?!?)
Without a doubt this was probably the most bizarre labor and delivery experience-but simultaneously, the best!🙏❤️🙏
It’s wild to think it took trying *so long* to get these boys, but my pregnancy was smooth sailing for them (except that lump they found early on)😩
And then Carrying them to 36 weeks - I felt so good knowing they were soooo close to full term👏
And the labor - I’ve been in labor 3 times before and every time was SO painful. So this one with TWINS and it being so calm and relaxed…I still can’t wrap my head around it!🤯😆
The aftermath though is still the same—blisters on my nips bc breastfeeding has never been my friend. It is legit the most excruciating pain to nurse my babies…but after a few months they do callous and then it’s easy peasy.
My body feels broken everywhere but my heart is so full!🙏❤️🙏
