Description
I have a couple of practical guitar tips and a little demo of Peter Green's phrasing genius. On thumb picks, I originally tried them because Johnny Winter used them and is one of the fastest guitar slingers ever so I figured they must play faster. I like them except they can make your thumb numb if they are too tight. The other advantages are you never have to worry about dropping them on stage and you don't have to palm them when you play with your fingers. The trick is to hold them like a regular pick. I learned that from a Johnny video. The Dupont Teflon lube works great. For the first time, I actually cut a string in half at about the 10th fret before it broke at the bridge saddle. Hopefully you get a little of what phrasing is all about and why you need to listen to the greats and copy some of their licks to learn great phrasing. Or, if your lucky talented, make up great phases yourself. Myself, I have to steal most of them which is way easier. Thank you to all of the talented pioneers that lead the way.
