Part from Beijing Opera "Silang Sees His Mother" (Chinese Lyrics + English Translation + Pinyin)
Yang Silang (杨四郎), or Yang Yanhui (杨延辉), is the 4th son of the Yang family in Song (宋) dynasty (960-1279). Yangs lost battles against Liao (辽) dynasty (907-1125) in the north. Yanhui was captured.
Hiding his identity, Yanhui was released and served army of Liao. He married Princess Tiejing (铁镜公主) afterwards.
15 years later, war between Liao and Song starts again. Yanhui’s mother leads army of Song to the north. The two armies are at either side of Yanmen Pass (雁门关).
