Description
Into the woods, I go,
To lose my mind and find my soul.
“Life is nothing but flesh and bones,”
Or so we were told.
Maybe there’s more to be seen,
More to be felt.
How could I get there with the cards that have been dealt?
As I wonder, trees rustle and brood over their fresh seeds,
Seeds that were buried in the earth for no one to see.
Hidden like the wooden haloes inside the trunk of a birch tree.
But when their time circles around,
They sprout from the darkness of the ground.
Facing towards a celestial light that calls aloud,
I see myself, walking through an emerald gate with a great sigh,
Covered from head to toe in that same light,
Raptured by the symphonic strings that play notes of threes into the night.
Now, an oracle from the other world,
I go, beckoned by her primordial whistles,
Yet restrained by the warnings they echo.
But then I hear You.
You, the One that calls all of life by name,
Will You take me through the narrow road?
Are You the pillar of steam that will show me the way?
The north star that must be followed?
You’re El, the One who will neither slumber nor sleep,
The living engine who sets all of life into motion.
Our days numbered You keep,
So I go into the woods with my eyes open.
