James reese is a legendary figure in the deep-funk scene since his work has been released on several compilations like stones throw's fabulous "funky 16 corners".
Let's Go (It's Summertime) was recorded at the mark v studios in greenville, south carolina in 1969.
James Reese produced and arranged the session on his own.
Trombonist James Reese hit the studio again about 6 years later.
His goal was to record an updated, disco-fied version of "let's go (it's summertime)" which, until this day, had remained unreleased.
