A Texas native, Jessica Simpson began her career in gospel music and in her teenage years, signed to Columbia Records. She released her first album at the peak of the teen pop era during the late '90's. She was marketed as a contrast to Britney Spears due to her more innocent image and powerful singing voice. Simpson went on to release three more pop albums, two Christmas albums and a country album as well as run a successful business.
Released in late 1999, Sweet Kisses peaked at #25 in the US and three singles were released.
Released as the first single from the album, I Wanna Love You Forever peaked at #3 in the US becoming her first and only top ten hit.
