Description
"Swipesy" Cakewalk was composed by Scott Joplin, who penned the trio and Arthur Marshall, who composed the rest of the piece. This cakewalk allegedly got its name from John Stillwell Stark, who purportedly said that the young boy on the cover of the then unnamed composition appeared to have the shy countenance of someone who had just "swiped" cookies out of a cookie jar. Originally composed for solo piano, setting for band by Nathan Caldwell. Visit nathancaldwellmusic.com to purchase a full set and score.
