A wonderful cover of the equally fab Zombies original of 'Tell Her No'. 40 years ago Juice Newton released this track as the first single for her 'Dirty Looks' long player which followed up two massive years for the country singer. In 1981 Juice broke through and crossed over big time with 'Angel Of The Morning' and 'Queen Of Hearts' which were also both Grammy nominated. The next year 'Quiet Lies' produced two more hits and nominations in 'Love's Been A Little Bit Hard On Me' and 'Break It To Me Gently' the latter earning Juice the Grammy for Best Country Female Vocal Performance.

'Dirty Looks' was more country/pop but it did not find the audience that its predecessors did. 'Tell Her No' was a minor hit on the Pop chart, but its follow up were no-shows. But undeterred, Juice Newton continued to release great country/pop/rock melange albums for the rest of the 80's. She veered back towards country mid-decade and it paid off; with a 5th Grammy nod for the singer. I loved Juice's voice from first listen to 'Angel Of The Morning' and faithfully bought all her albums and still adore them all these years later.
