Description
This song became one of the biggest hits ever in music history, spending a record-breaking 14 consecutive weeks at #1 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart in 1996, along with a worldwide dance craze. Originally released in 1993, Macarena underwent several remixes, including the River Re-mix with its now famous catchy hooks done by Spanish group Fangoria and DJ Big Toxic. In 1996, the Bayside Boys team of Mike Triay and Carlos de Yarza used the Fangoria/Big Toxic mix as a base for their own remix that included English lyrics and it became the monster hit known as the Bayside Boys Mix. I really love this song, and it was one of my favorite songs of 1996. This version I posted here has a shorter intro and removes all instances of Anne Bancroft's vocal sample saying "I am not trying to seduce you" that was taken from the movie, "The Graduate."
