This is my performance of "Lucky Southern" which was written by Keith Jarrett. This is one of my favorite Bossa Nova tunes and I don't think people play it or call it enough at jam sessions. It is an easy piece to solo over making it a great exercise for those learning to improvise in a jazz bossa nova style.

In this performance I play the melody, solo twice, and then demonstrate two separate styles of accompaniment. One using rootless voicings and short chord "stabs" and one that involves a moving bassline.

I originally recorded this video as my audition tape for my school's Latin music ensemble.
