Whiskey in the Jar is a traditional Irish song that was brought into the rock world by Thin Lizzy who released their version of the song in 1972. The version that I covered was recorded by Metallica in 1999 and won a Grammy for Best Hard Rock Performance in 2000. As a huge fan of both Thin Lizzy and Metallica it was difficult not to immediately think of this song when developing the set list for the Coverception series.
