Been on an "Influences" jag with these videos. Steve Morse, Larry Carlton, etc. Another player who was a huge influence was Eric Johnson. The Sacramento peeps on here know that my band did plenty of Morse/Dregs and Eric Johnson back in the day. The first place I heard Eric was not on one of his own records, but on the debut Christopher Cross record (which is one of the best guitar records of the 80s, also featuring Larry Carlton and Jay Graydon). This solo on "Minstrel Gigolo" completely grabbed me for it's uniqueness and originality. He simply did not sound like anyone else.
