Allah, Allah, Allah, Allah

Your weak servant has called upon You,
and my words were far from perfect.

Yet You, O Lord, accepted even my imperfect words,
for You are the Perfection perfected.

Allah, Allah, Allah, Allah

When I was narrow-chested, unable to take anything in, you still took me in within the boundlessness of Your mercy
I forgot You, O Lord… yet You never forgot me.
I turned my gaze away from You toward the distractions of my worldly life,
yet with the eye of Your kindness, You still looked upon me.

And when I called upon You for a need, and You did not answer me,
I became weak—yet You are the Forbearing, the Generous.

I wept when I realized that, in wisdom, You delayed me,
and with mercies from You, You encompassed me.
You were more compassionate to me than I was to myself,
and You were nearer to me than my own self.

I failed You, O Lord, time and again,
yet never—ever—did You abandon me.
Never—ever—did You abandon me.
