Nikolai Yakovlevich Myaskovsky (Russian: Никола́й Я́ковлевич Мяско́вский; Polish: Mikołaj Miąskowski; ISO-9: Nikolaj Jakovlevič Mjaskovskij), was a Russian and Soviet composer, born on 20 April 1881 in Novogeorgievsk and died in Moscow on 8 August 1950. He is sometimes referred to as the "Father of the Soviet Symphony". Myaskovsky was awarded the Stalin Prize five times.
