The oldest surviving secular song from Scandinavia dating back to the medieval period, written in Old East Norse. The manuscript containing the melody was found in Skåne County, Sweden but the area was part of the Kingdom of Denmark at the time.
Old Norse lyrics: Drømde mik en drøm i nat um silki ok ærlik pæl.
Modern English translation: I dreamt a dream last night
of silk and fine fur.
The design on the lyre is the sun with deer antlers above it.
