Description

The Mission (1986) is a British film about the experiences of a Jesuit missionary in 18th century South America. The music, scored by Italian composer Ennio Morricone, was listed at #23 on AFI's 100 Years of Film Scores. Morricone's work combines liturgical chorales, native drumming, and Spanish-influenced guitars, often in the very same track, in an attempt to capture the varying cultures depicted in the film.
