'pink salt' was written for my friend Huizi as a commission for her debut recital at Carnegie Hall in New York. I was inspired orignially by a photo Huizi took of herself walking down Pink Sand Beach in the Bahamas. I was drawn to the photo, as I had never seen such vibrant pink sand, and it reminded me of home. Growing up in Sydney’s Northern Beaches, I’ve always felt deeply connected to the ocean. The beach has always been a place I could go to, like visiting an old friend. The video was shot in my hometown at sunrise, and features Chloe Young, a talented dancer who currently dances for the Sydney Dance Company
