Shawnee Kish is a Canadian Mohawk 2 Spirit Singer/Songwriter. Shawnee joins The Music Made Me to talk about her musical upbringing, her mom's premonition of knowing she would grow up to be in the music industry and the role music has played in not only helping her discover her true identity but also saving her life. She also talks about the importance of celebrating her indigenous heritage, using her voice to support the LGBTQ2S+ and indigenous communities and creating safe spaces for those who are struggling to find their true identities.
