My buddy Josh Rieke recorded an incredible vocal cover of Deathmask Divine and hit me up to see if I'd want to learn the solo for it. Being one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite bands, of course I had to say yes! I tried to put my own spin on the solo and imagine it in a way more like how Brandon Ellis or Ryan Knight would approach it since as much as I love Nocturnal, I honestly can't stand their first lead guitarist haha. Notes were kept the same almost entirely, but I spiced up the articulation in terms of bending/sliding into notes, snuck some Greg Howe-style slide vibrato in there, and of course got some nice wide vibrato going on in the spirit of Brandon!
