Description

The group formed in 1956 while they were in high school in Mount Vernon, New York. They called themselves The Mellotones, They signed with Herald Records and recorded a song written by a staff composer for the label. Billy Myles would go on to record The Joker (That's What They Call Me) later that year. When Tonight, Tonight was released by The Mellotones, their name had to be changed because another group had rights to that name. The song spent 10 weeks on the charts and the group never had another song on the charts.
