A Lerner/Loewe song from the 1951 Broadway musical, "Paint Your Wagon", set in the California Gold Rush. Vaughan Monroe and his Orchestra recorded their popular single the same year. Robert Goulet was recorded live during a 1963 concert. And Harve Presnell's version is from the 1969 Hollywood film.

Members of the Western Writers of America voted this song number 19 of the Top 100 Western songs of all time.
