We came across Marlborough UK, based producer Tom Jarmey amidst taking a break from studying a degree in Geography. Like most students taking a gap year, he found himself in the classic pilgrimage across South-East Asia - and we assume preparing for which may have had some influence on the particular brand of heartwarming house vibes heard on Tom’s debut EP “Beach Jazz”. Smooth AF with swirling bird chirps, rambling chats and guitar licks for day, it's no surprise “Beach Jazz ft. MarBlu” clocked up half a million plays on its Youtube premiere. From there, Jarmey takes a sharp turn heading for the vibe equator with the heavy lifting “Fiji” (resplendent with distorted percussion and a break beat bass twist), before heading once again into daylight territory with EP closer “What Does Honey Taste Like” - all luscious pads and sun soaked strings and a groove that reaffirms (for us at least) that Tom Jarmey not be a name soon forgotten.
