'Twa Recruiting Sergeants' is a British patriotic song, a version with lyrics in the Scots languge of the English song 'Over the Hills and Far Away' that was written and rewritten with different lyrics between 1698 and 1719. This version appears close to the latter English versions, with the Scots ‘Through Gibraltar tae France and Spain’ line the same as the English one. Please know that the English translation is a bit semantic.
