Lately, I started reading up on Zarlino, whose treatise Sweelinck (Netherlands) referenced the most by far in his teachings.

Funny thing is, Zarlino is Italian, but he‘s drawing his style and his theories from Willaert, who came from Flanders and studied music in Paris.

So, what goes around, comes around. Even with horses and carriages. Globalization started a long time ago…
