Phew! This is a long one. And it’s also my favorite Bob Dylan song. I honestly can’t think of a better way to end this year.
Dylan has been a huge inspiration songwriting wise for me, and this song is beyond incredible. Not only is it powerful and beautifully phrased, but the idea behind the song is just... genius. My favorite part of the song is the second to last verse where he sings about Jesus and Judas. Amazing.
Also, this is a really difficult song to sing range wise. I’m an alto btw. Surprise surprise!
Also also, in case I haven’t made it clear before I just want to say that: ALL black lives matter, no human being is illegal, climate change is real, love is love, women’s rights are human rights, your pronouns are valid, and kindness is everything!
